ConvertFlow's ZeroBounce integration lets your forms validate email addresses with your own ZeroBounce account. Connect your ZeroBounce API key once, then choose ZeroBounce as the validation source on any form's email field.
ConvertFlow's built-in email validation stays the default. Nothing changes on your forms unless you switch a form's email field to ZeroBounce.
Why use ZeroBounce validation?
You already pay for ZeroBounce and want the same validation rules on your ConvertFlow forms
You want validation results from your own ZeroBounce account instead of ConvertFlow's built-in validation
Connect ZeroBounce
In ConvertFlow, open your website and go to Settings > Integrations
Find ZeroBounce in the Validation category
In your ZeroBounce account, copy your API key (use the server-side API key, not a public or client-side key)
Paste it into the API Key field in ConvertFlow and connect
ConvertFlow checks your key when you connect.
Use ZeroBounce on a form
Open a campaign or landing page in the funnel builder and select your Form element
Make sure the Email address field is toggled on, then open its field settings
Turn on Validate Email Is Real
In the Validation Integration dropdown, choose ZeroBounce
Optionally turn on Allow Business Emails Only and customize the Validation Message
The Validation Integration dropdown only appears after Validate Email Is Real is on, and only lists integrations you've connected. It defaults to ConvertFlow.
What happens when a visitor submits
When a visitor submits the form, ConvertFlow checks their email with your ZeroBounce account before the form is submitted.
ZeroBounce result | What the visitor experiences |
Valid | Email is accepted and the form submits |
Catch-all (accept-all domains) | Accepted. Catch-all addresses can't be fully verified, so they're allowed through |
Invalid, spamtrap, abuse, or do-not-mail | Blocked. The field shows your Validation Message and the submit button is disabled until the email is changed |
Disposable, toxic, or possible trap | Blocked, same as above |
Unknown | Accepted, so real visitors aren't turned away when ZeroBounce can't decide |
If the email is blocked, visitors see the message you set in Validation Message. If you haven't set one, they see "Please enter a valid email address" (or "Please enter a business email" when Allow Business Emails Only blocks a free-email address such as Gmail).
If validation can't run, the form still submits. To avoid losing leads, ConvertFlow lets the visitor through when it can't get a result. This covers a missing or invalid API key, ZeroBounce being unreachable, or no response within 10 seconds.
