Testing campaigns in the preview page before they're live

The preview page in the ConvertFlow app is a great resource to verify the style of a campaign and test the funnel:

These are some of the features that can be tested in the preview page:

  • Actions (URL redirects, jump to step, show thank you message, etc.)

  • Conditional logic based on campaign actions (survey/quiz/form responses, etc.)

  • Skip logic based on campaign actions (survey/quiz/form responses, etc.)

  • Field verification and requirements

  • Merge tags based on the campaign data

  • Check desktop and mobile views

  • All builder elements

Here are some features that cannot be tested on the preview page:

  • Creating contacts

  • Automations (tags, lists, lead alerts, etc.)

  • Conditional logic based on integrations and site activity

  • Skip logic based on integrations and site activity

  • Reporting (views, conversions, completions)

  • Site font (inherit)

  • Targeting conditions

  • "Display a campaign" action

NOTE: The “Site font” option won't work on a landing page as it's not connected to the website's theme.

When testing these functions before activating the campaign on the live site without a test site/page, we suggest launching the campaign on a test ConvertFlow landing page by targeting the campaign to that landing page.

For the best testing experience, we always recommend having the campaign live on the website. This will allow testing the entire funnel as a visitor would experience it, as well as access to the admin widget to check the conditions, logic, and data being recorded.
