Not everyone likes dictionaries! But if you're a nerd like us, then this is for you πŸ€“

Here's a detailed guide to the different areas of an account, campaign management, the funnel builder, and some ConvertFlow lingo.

Glossary

A few common words that will come up when navigating the ConvertFlow app, reaching out to support, or implementing conversion marketing strategies:

Actions

This is the visual confirmation that will follow once a conversion element is clicked in a ConvertFlow campaign. Learn how to add an action here β†’

Automations

These are the background automations that will run once a conversion element is clicked in a ConvertFlow campaign. Learn how to add an automation here β†’

Funnel Builder

This is the builder where a campaign's styling, content, settings, and funnel steps can be managed. Content can be added, removed, or positioned. Colors and fonts can be styled. It's also where funnel actions are set, logic is configured, and automations are added to trigger workflows. Learn how to use our drag-and-drop builder β†’

Campaign

These are the conversion campaigns that can be created in ConvertFlow in different formats. These are either popups (hooks and overlays), sticky bars, embeds, or landing pages. Each campaign can have multiple variants (for split-tests), and each variant can have multiple funnel steps. Find all of our campaign templates here β†’

Campaign link

This is particularly helpful when sharing campaign information with another ConvertFlow user or our support team to troubleshoot. It contains the campaign's respective website ID and campaign/cta ID. The link can be copied from any of the campaign's pages like the overview page, builder, preview page, or the launch page:

CTA

CTA (call-to-action) is an alternate term used for campaigns, all of which engage visitors to perform an action such as submitting a form, going through a quiz, choosing a product, etc. This "CTA" acronym is often found in ConvertFlow's script and APIs, referring to campaigns.

Elements

These can be added to campaigns to expand their capabilities. Our elements include headlines, texts, forms, buttons, surveys, quizzes, images, videos, rows, dividers, products, product heroes, timers, progress bars, HTML embeds, icons, lists, collapses, tabs, and carrousels.

Trigger

This is the way a popup campaign will show up on a website. These include time-delayed, upon-click, exit intent, scroll percentage, etc.

Accessing Account

Creating an account

An account can be created from the ConvertFlow website:

As well as the login page:

The login page is pretty straightforward, logging in can be done using Google or manually entering the associated email and password:

NOTE: When not using Google login, the reCaptcha validation may take multiple attempts to pass this security filter, this cannot be bypassed.

Recovering an account

Forgetting the password used to open an account can happen and following the ConvertFlow recovery workflow is easy:

NOTE: Make sure our no-reply email app@convertflow.com is whitelisted, and check the spam folder so our recovery email is received without a hitch.

Account Dashboard

Once the sign-in is complete, the account dashboard is displayed:

In the account dashboard it's possible to:

Follow the checklist to learn about using ConvertFlow

Access the ConvertFlow referral program and affiliate dashboard

Follow ConvertFlow's most recent updates

Navigate your account from the user dropdown

Add and check the account's users

Create, edit, and share campaign templates

Campaign templates can be saved for reuse across all of the account's websites:

Check and manage the account's billing

From the billing page, it's possible to see the account's subscription, total traffic, website limit usage, and invoices:

Edit the account settings

When accessing a website from the account dashboard, the website's dashboard shows:

In the website dashboard it's possible to:

Create new campaigns

To create a new campaign, clicking the blue "New+" button or the "Create Campaign+" when in the card view:

Or a list:

Filter all campaigns

With ConvertFlow's advanced filtering options, it's possible to quickly find campaigns based on:

  • Sorting campaigns by time or stats

  • The campaign format (popup, landing page, etc.)

  • The campaign status (launched or archived)

  • The group the campaign is in

Create high-priority broadcast campaigns

Broadcasts can be used to schedule higher-priority campaigns to start and end on a specific date:

  • Performance of all campaigns

  • Top campaigns overview

  • Custom fields report

  • Top subscribe pages

  • Top landing pages

  • Top referral sources

  • Top first-touch UTMs

  • Top contact tags

View, filter, and export website contacts

The contacts page on the account is a great place to check for all the people who have converted with ConvertFlow campaigns. They can be filtered by campaign, profile data (name, email, geolocation), etc. as well as exported into a CSV file:

When accessing a contact, their profile is also where the contacts created during tests can be checked to make sure all automations, data, and integrations are running as expected before launching a live campaign:

Edit website settings

Website settings are different from account settings. They contain a lot of options that can affect the builder for that website, the website's campaigns, tracking, etc.:

Here are some of the areas and features available in the account's website settings:

Edit/Website

Here, the general website settings can be edited like the website name, business type, brand name, hosted subdomain, privacy, terms of service, SMS, and marketing text and links for all campaigns. As well as, lead alert email style, brand colors and font, removing "powered by" links, and disabling different tracking options.

This is also where custom and tracking codes can be added across all campaigns and set site-wide conditions:

Some resources about the features on this page can be found here:

The launch page is one of the final steps before activating a campaign on a live site. Depending on the campaign format (popup, embed, landing page) the launch page will contain targeting conditions to display popups, embed codes, and landing page URLs:

Campaign groups

Groups are a great way to organize and manage campaigns. Groups can be created to segment campaigns and are easily accessible from the campaign dashboard side menu:

This action will quickly duplicate an existing campaign with its variants:
